Weeks of spiralling tensions between Palestinians and Israelis have escalated into the worst violence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory since 2014.

The latest escalation in conflict has so far killed over 200 Palestinians, including scores of women and children.

Airstrikes have destroyed homes in Gaza, forcing terrified, traumatised families to flee. The Israeli blockade prevents them from leaving the enclave, so they are living with relatives or in schools, unable to reach a safe place.

Islamic Relief has a team of around 60 staff on the ground in Gaza. Our colleagues live and work in the communities we serve, and they too have been affected by the violence. Some have had bombs destroy their homes and injure their loved ones.

Islamic Relief is calling for an immediate end to the escalation in violence against civilians, for an end to the Israeli occupation and for a lasting solution that is rooted in international law and justice.

Conditions in Gaza were dire even before this latest escalation in conflict, with occupation, blockade and recurring conflict causing deep poverty and suffering. Islamic Relief has been by the side of vulnerable Palestinians since 1997, delivering vital humanitarian and development assistance. And we will remain by their side during this latest conflict.

With your support, we will provide families uprooted from their homes with vital items such as bedding, hygiene products and vouchers to buy urgently needed supplies. As the health service in Gaza – already struggling to cope with Covid – teeters on the brink of collapse, we will provide lifesaving medical support.

Stand with vulnerable Palestinians by helping us deliver lifesaving humanitarian aid. Give generously to our Palestine Emergency Appeal now.
